Heilbronn University offers the ideal opportunities for combining lecture-based studies with practical experience in a commercial setting. The signing of the collaboration agreements in mid-November 2021 marked the official start of the co-operation project.

Study model at the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences
Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences offers prospective students individual study options, including "Study with in-depth practical experience". This is a full-time study programme across seven semesters during which the theoretical content is conveyed in lectures, seminars, projects and laboratories at the university. Practical knowledge is provided alongside the course of study for the entire duration by a specific company. In lecture-free periods and during the practical semester, the students spend their time at the partner company to gain practical professional experience there. In addition, students write their dissertation at the company. A monthly allowance is paid to students for the whole of the study programme. The "Study with in-depth practical experience" model provides students with a broad knowledge base incorporating both theoretical and practical technical expertise.

MBO as a partner company for students
MBO Postpress Solutions GmbH is a medium-sized company with its roots in mechanical engineering. The company develops, manufactures and sells high-quality folding machines, robots and software solutions for national and international media companies as well as for the pharmaceutical industry. The company is headquartered in Oppenweiler. The site houses R&D (Research and Development department), as well as Assembly, Marketing, Sales and After Sales. Together with the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, MBO will be offering in-depth studies in electrical engineering, automation technology and mechanical engineering from the winter semester of 2022.

MBO places great value on initiative and independent working. People who enjoy contributing their own ideas and who want to work as part of a team – including across different departments – will feel right at home at MBO. Flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths accelerate progress on projects and set MBO apart as an agile company. Various employee events are held each year. Alongside all this, employees benefit from flexible working time models and a good health management programme. Around 15 percent of employees at the Oppenweiler site are students or apprentices.
